What Inspired Amina
When dementia entered Terrence Wells' family, affecting both of his grandfathers, his life as a developer took on a new purpose. Living in a multigenerational home to help provide care, he was on the front lines of their daily struggle to stay coordinated. He felt the constant strain of trying to keep everyone on the same page and knew he had to build the tool that could bring his family the clarity and support they desperately needed.
Driven by a deep desire to help his own family, Terrence used his background in AI to build Amina. Initially, it was a private tool created just for them: a way to keep his mom, grandma, and himself on the same page. As Amina began to make a real difference in their lives by providing timely resources and a shared source of truth, he realized it could be a lifeline for other families navigating the same complex journey. What started as an act of love for his family has now grown into a mission to provide accessible, empathetic support for caregivers everywhere.
